The CD “Flute Sonatas of the 20th Century” by Slovak performers Ivica Gabrišová – flute and Maroš Klátik – piano achieved great success in the Polish international competition “Muzyczne Orły” 2023, where it received the main prize – a trophy in the category of foreign CDs.
The awarded title was released by the music label Pavlík Records in 2022 as a profile CD of both interpreters and received favorable reviews from both the professional community and music critics.
This significant award for exceptional artistic achievement in the field of classical music in 2022 was granted to both interpreters by an international jury composed of prominent European performers, professors, conductors, and musicologists.
The ceremonial gala evening and award ceremony took place on September 24, 2023, at the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Łódź, where both interpreters personally received the award.
The creation of the CD title “Flute Sonatas of the 20th Century” was financially supported by the Internal Grant System of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, and the study of the works and their concert performance was supported by the Art Support Fund through a scholarship.
Both interpreters presented the complete program of the CD in concert, including recitals, on the first Slovak stage in the Small Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic in January 2022 as part of the SF Musical Mosaic subscription series.
